| Drawing tools in 4XCharts (1) |
The Drawing Tab on each chart should be the basis of all your technical analysis. Even though all the indicators are located on their own tab, the best place to get started with analysis is to get cozy with support and Resistance.Using the line tools can be one of the most effective ways to find trading opportunities. The Bump and Run Reversal, Double Top, Channel Trade and many others can all be made a bit clearer by drawing a few lines of support and resistance. Using the line tools below you will be able to effectively, through practice, identify trading opportunities. Add Line: Using the option you can draw free hand lines (A). This is helpful for drawing channels, wedges, triangles and marking other formation types. If the line is completely flat there will be no extension (C) marked by a dashed line coming from the end of the line you have drawn. If you do not want the line to extend beyond the area you have drawn, right click on the line and uncheck the “Extend this Line” option (B). Add Vertical Line: Allows you to draw a line from the top of the chart to the bottom. If you have indicators attached to the chart you will have to add the vertical line there as well. For each line drawn, either the date or time will be added at the bottom of the line. ![]() Add Horizontal Line: If you want to identify regions of support or resistance that have defined flat tops and bottom, this tool will help you mark them, as well as allow you t see how that area relates to past areas of support and resistance. The line will be visible at all areas on the chart. Each line will be marked with the value of the line at the very left hand side. ![]() Move Line: Turns off which ever line tool you have turned on, and will allow you to left click on any line and move it. Add Text: Allows you to create notes for the lines you have drawn. ![]() Snap Line to H/L/C: Currently works by snapping the line to the open and close only. This feature is being worked on.
